Faculty culture and behaviour-change training for schools and universities.

Faculty development · Sessional staff induction · Respect@Work in tertiary settings · Student safeguarding

Education staff carry duties that look like no other workforce. Tenured academics, sessional staff, school teachers, clinical faculty, and the directors who oversee them - working in environments where their conduct is also part of the curriculum. The Experience Lab partners with school and university HR directors, deans and faculty leads on the cultural work that runs alongside teaching: Respect@Work, faculty conduct, student safeguarding and sessional staff induction.

Our Wesley College program took 67 teachers through a single session that delivered, in their HR Director's words, "a shift in our collective awareness and determination to do better." Our work in tertiary settings runs through faculty conduct, sessional staff inductions, and the staff-student dynamics universities are now expected to manage at policy level - not just acknowledge.

Why teams in this sector come back

For faculty development and culture work, the experiential format does what slide-based training cannot: it puts academics in front of the situations they will face in their own teaching, alongside the abstract version of them. Behaviour shifts when a teacher has rehearsed the moment before they live it.

Where universities and medical schools also need the realism layer for OSCE circuits, simulated patients and clinical assessments, that work lives on the RolePlay page - the same bench, applied to a different format.

What clients say

Word from the sector.

The realism and professionalism the actors bring to their roles really makes a huge difference in how students integrate and apply the unit's learning content in preparation for what they may encounter in real-world situations. Despite doing this for several years now, it never gets old, and your team helps to create such a valuable and memorable learning experience. We couldn't imagine running the unit without your involvement!Lecturer, School of Allied Health, Curtin University
“On Day 1, one of the students said to me - 'he's not an actor is he? He obviously has a real injury!' Nate was sooo good at his role and he nailed the brief perfectly.”Assistant Director Learning & Teaching, Curtin University
“The unsolicited feedback I've already received tells me it hit the right balance for participants between awareness, discomfort and fun. Facilitating in front of 67 teachers is never an easy gig but there was such joyful engagement with the audience and resonance with the message that I genuinely felt a shift in our collective awareness and determination to do better.”Director of Human Resources, Wesley College
